Castle originally surrounded by walls with a medieval structure remaining largely intact. The village is situated on a slope that enjoys a wide panorama.
At the entrance of the village is the simple church of San Michele Arcangelo with a fine crucifix from the 14th century and various frescoes from the 17th. Many architectural elements of medieval architecture survive in the central part of the village. In the 13th century it was part of the dominions of Frederick II and depended on Spoleto. In 1522 it participated in the failed revolt against Spoleto under whose control it remained until the unification of Italy in 1861.
