The yearly series of art and cultural events is back at the Borgo; this 8th edition includes photographic exhibitions, classical and jazz music concerts, conferences and presentations. In addition to the events, every Friday at sunset there will be a live music aperitif in the renewed scenery of the Rose Garden.
Two exhibitions by international artists are dedicated to photography: Yann Arthus-Bertrand will talk about his battle in defense of the environment with images from his monumental project "the Earth from above", which took him to over 120 countries and earned him a several awards; Francesco Jodice, who has already exhibited at the Prado and the Tate Modern, will show images of places and landscapes, the result of his attention to urban anthropology and new processes of participation.
Michela Musco, soprano and great expert on French chansonniers, will perform in August with her band. Classical music concerts will see Flavio Cucchi on guitar; the cellos of Elinor Frey and Marc Vanscheeuwijck with Isabella Bison on violin; musical readings with Alessandro Bistarelli (piano) and Diletta Masetti (voice); Simone Vallerotonda will perform music for theorbo and Spanish guitar.
Jazz will be represented by the duo Mariano Bellopede / Nicola Rando and by The Sycamore group.
Guido Bolaffi, sociologist among the greatest Italian experts on migratory issues, a columnist for major Italian newspapers, will present his forthcoming book, while Teresa Severini Zaganelli will illustrate the Lungarotti Wine Museum in Torgiano and will present the volume "Grapes in the glass. A guide to the secrets of wine".
Mariella Pandolfi will introduce a video in which the artist Marisa Albanese, painter, sculptor and photographer, talks about her poetry, about her creations and the approach that focuses on themes of human migrations, on the change and interaction between vision and gesture.
The Florence Gold Jewellery School Academy will set up a photographic exhibition based on its 30-year old activity of training in contemporary jewellery, exhibiting works of its international array of students.
